exams

One week today and ill have done one exam! scary stuff but also super looking forward to a chilled out easter holiday!
Not posted in a while it feels like but last week attended the tennis cpd event and really really enjoyed it! looking forward to getting the resources so can try it all out a some point. I have been telling every teacher I know to do the course because of the resources they will receive and they get 500 pound worth of equipment for there school also!
Anyway one more of studying and we are dne!

12th March

Cannot believe we are at the 12th of March already! Always said exams are at the end of March as if that was a long way a way however sadly its creeping up so fast! Struggling with it all but just really looking forward to the Easter holidays now. Nearly finished at the Jordanhill campus for good cannot believe it! Really not up for the move in to town.Suppose we will get used to it eventually though. Only time will tell!

Wednesday

Back to a normal busy week at uni this week, no placement so suppose I have just got to focus on exams and assignment just now! Why does it all have to be at one time?! Anyway I won't moan better just get on with it. Going to a CPD event today about looked after children and hopefully that will be an interesting one.
No classes apart from that today or tomorrow which should give me more time to get on with all this. Will update after the event today.

Thursday!

Classes on Wednesday and Thursdays are now finished which means I should I need to get my head down and study and write these assignments aaah! Not sure what to write about for Integrated, think I am going to do Health and Wellbeing but will see how that goes.
Excited for placement next week, will be really good to have a wee three days gives us time to get used to the class and get to know the teacher better.  I always feel like with only one serial day I never get the chance to ask everything I wanted to.  Hoping to get P1 as I have only had p4/3 and p6 so would be nice to be down with the very young ones.  Only time will tell though!

Another Friday Post

Its Friday and yes it is the end of the week which is exciting but morey big cousin had her baby today! I know this isnt educationally related but it is super exciting!!!
On a more educational note we had a visitor in today taking our lecture which I did not realise and she was from Christian Aid.  She was outlining many of the horrific facts about straving children etc all over the world! Super hard hitting for a Friday morning but thats the reality!
Also the previous lecture with the bit about the assignment completely confused me.  I have taken down notes of what she said but I am just not sure they fully match what was on the handout about the assignment.  Will worry about that in due course though!
Nearly time to chill/work for the weekend though so all good!

Maths

Maths today was again quite long but definitely a faster Tuesday than last week which is always a bonus! Looking at other students activities was good and some people had good resources and super good ideas, task now is to try and be as creative on placement as some people were for our tutorial.  We had thought that other people had to actually take part in our activity instead of just look at it so wasted a bit of time making the sheets and bringing the various resources but atleast we were prepared i suppose...
Music at the beginning of the lecture was random and John is clearly gutted about Rangers going into administration (anyone else pick up on that haha?) but apart from that I do always find his lectures interesting and easy to listen to.
Oh also happy valentines day !

Friday!

Love the Friday feeling! Another busy week nearly done. Integrated Curriculum this morning was so rushed a lot of tasks to do in not a lot of time. Needless to say through our ace teamwork we got through most of it (not very well) but atleast we had a stab at it all! It appears we should have brought in a laptop today which I never hopefully rememeber next time its needed to save the stress. Anyway its pretty much weekend time now so all good couple of days of work and fun coming on!

Animation Day

Today again I just looked at the computer and the programme did not work! I'm actually a disaster but in the end when working on the laptop we were able to work with I Can Animate and I think this for children could be great fun.  In my placement school chidlren were creating adverts using animation with clay models which they then showed in my class so it was interesting for me to see how they created these adverts.  I do realise for them this was a long topice and can now understand why it took so long to create the adverts. Today as already gone faster than yesterday so all good!!

Tuesday is definately the longest day of the week!

Tuesdays always last sooo long! Think I'm just wanting it to be the weekend already.  Realised today in maths I really cannot work with older metric units so google on the phone came in handy! Feels weird sitting in uni counting to 100 and timing it... Suppose its just an example of what you could do in a classroom with time!
Lecture on Monday was really relevant and think there were some good ideas for techniques for assessment and ideas you could use in different stages with different groups and individuals.  Just need to try and remember these when out on placement and not get too bogged down in the stress of planning files etc.

Thursday

Last few days at uni have taught me how impatient I am with computers! Great tools when they work however as soon as something plays up thats me stumped!
Made video clips in CCC yesterday which was good, not a fan of being in them and hearing my voice etc.  Bringing it together on the computer proved easier than I remember and I do think I could now definitely do this again which is handy.  Got to get my head down and work today I'd say before heading to my wee cousins 2nd bday (wooohoo)! Then one more day of uni till the weekend!

Monday

Lecture done this morning, nice to have something different to listen too.  Like hearing people who are working in Schools currently speaking as well as the experienced professionals we normally have! Nice to also have the opportunity to ask questions and get quick responses from these professionals! Anxious about getting back our dual narrative diaries tomorrow if Im honest totally dreading it but only got to wait until tomorrow now I suppose!

Burns day

Happy Burns Day people! Remember the days in School when you had to recite your burns poems... I've still never been to a burns supper am told by my family its a must!Enjoy your haggis tonight although after chiquitos for lunch I think its off the cards for me will save it for another night! Also Happy Birthday Alison !:)

Today

Not sure that I will ever get my had around ed studies not sure where to start. Just so unsure what I need to know and what is irrelevant for the exam! Now this afternoon we start to talk about our professional project please leave me to get my head around exam first!

Half way through Monday and already looking forward to the weekend! Work to do before that though! :( Need to learn ed studies, Im clueless!

Just been trying out http://scratch.mit.edu/ amazing to see how much you could create using the programme but I will need A LOT of practice before creating an activity myself!! Maybe children would be better with it though!
